Gaming Points Way Ahead For Future Network

Future Network, the specialist consumer magazine publisher, has reported a 7% increase in turnover for the first five months of 2003 with growth occurring in both circulation and advertising.

Since May’s AGM, steady progress has been maintained with revenues from circulation up by 8% while advertising revenue rose 5%.

The computer games sector was particularly dynamic with year-on-year growth of 13% while entertainment and general computing titles made 2% gains.

The US remains a buoyant market for Future and revenues jumped 8% in the year to the end of May, following on from an encouraging 2002.

The UK continues to perform satisfactorily, with revenue growth of 4%, and mainland European operations are expected to show a small operating profit when interim results are announced on September 16.

In a trading statement, the company said: “Overall, the performance of the group’s magazine portfolio continues to show progress, with revenues and operating profit ahead of last year for the first five months.”
