Gardeners Favourites Defect To Classic

One of Britain’s top radio teams, from BBC Radio’s ‘Gardeners’ Question Time’ is to move to Classic FM. Less than a month ago talks began between the entire gardening team and Classic FM; Classic has now commissioned a new programme to be called Classic Gardening Forum. The programme, which will be broadcast every Saturday afternoon from 2-3pm launching on April 2, will have the same team and will stick to a very similar format to Gardener’s Question Time.

Commenting on the new programme, Michael Bukht, Programme Controller said, “We know from our research that over 65% of our listeners are keen on gardening.” In order to comply with the requirements of Classic’s broadcasting licence, the question and answer sequences will be blended with popular classical music to fit themes such as flowers, fruit or the regions from which the programmes are broadcast.

Radio 4 has replied with a promise that Gardener’s Question Time, with its new Chairman, Eric Robson, will remain in its Sunday afternoon slot, with new panellists.
