General Cable Increase Losses

General Cable PLC reported an increase in losses from £ 8.7 million in 1995 to £11.7 million in June 1996. Depreciation charges and increased interest were the main factors accounting for this. The interim results published today also reported that 26% of revenue came from business telecommunications, 43 % from residential telephony and 31% from cable television.
