Ginger Chief Executive Quits
David Campbell has resigned from his position as chief executive of Ginger Media Group. Following Scottish Media Group’s £225m takeover of Ginger in January (see Ginger Acquisition Strengthens SMG’s Presence), Campbell was given responsibility for the day to day running of the combined operation and was expected to play a large part in its future.
A replacement has not yet been named, although Campbell is said to be leaving the company with immediate effect. No-one at SMG or Ginger was available for comment.Campbell had been with Virgin Radio for eight years, seeing it from its launch under Richard Branson, through its new ownership by Chris Evans and the consequent SMG takeover.
