Ginger Media Group In Bid Rumours
The Ginger Media Group is in the midst of bid rumours after talks last month of a flotation of Chris Evans’ media empire failed to materialise (see Newsline Brief). The main contender believed to be interested in making a bid is the Scottish Media Group, and BSkyB has also been mentioned.
The group, which owns Virgin Radio and a television production company, is expected to be worth up to £230 million, a figure which analysts believe the Scottish Media Group will be unable to afford. Chris Evans owns a 55% stake.
Rumours have been circulating for a few weeks but so far no groups have confirmed that talks have occurred. When Newsline called the Ginger group today there was no one available for comment.
