Gladiators A Ratings Winner For Sky One

Gladiators Sky One’s revival of 90’s entertainment show Gladiators drew an impressive audience of over one million adult viewers.

The show – featuring brand new gladiators – was watched by an average audience of 1.02 million, with viewing peaking at 1.11 million for the final fifteen minutes.

Earlier on Sunday evening, Sky One’s other new entertainment show Don’t Forget The Lyrics also managed to attract a healthy viewing total. The Shane Richie fronted game show, which featured contestants winning cash prizes by remembering lyrics to popular songs, was watched by an average audience of 696,000.

The most watched programme on Sunday night was a new episode of ITV1’s Midsomer Murders. Featuring guest appearances by Sue Jenkins and Chris Barrie, the murder mystery drama pulled in 6.31 million viewers (with a 29.83% viewing share). This was over 1.5 million more than BBC1’s repeat airing of Indiana Jones And The Temple of Doom, shown at the same time.

Despite good weekend weather, Saturday saw ITV1’s Britain’s Got Talent continue to post impressive ratings. An average of 6.61 million adults watched the latest auditionees try out for the chance of performing in front of Prince Charles and win a cash prize £100,000.
