Gluttons For Punishment
Three of The Economist‘s display sales executives will be running in this Sunday’s London Marathon. Steve Middleton is running for the TV Times Leukaemia Research Fund, Patrick Williams for Save the Rhino and Rupert Harrow for Whizz-Kids. The Economist has pledged to double the sponsorship money they raise so if you would like to give some money to one of the charities call them on 0171 830 7000.
The London Marathon, however, will feel like a gentle stroll to Paddy and Rupert in comparison to the gruelling 150 mile race across the Sahara, the “Toughest Foot Race on Earth”, which they ran from 29th March-4th April this year. Rupert finished in 62 hours and Paddy in an impressive 36 hours, 57 minutes and between them they raised £26,000 for Whizz-Kids and for the Cheshire Homes Foundation.
At least they will run off all of those Economist lunches!
