GMG Shakes Up Radio Brands

GMG Shakes Up Radio Brands

Guardian Media Group has announced a presenter and management shuffle as it streamlines its Real Radio and recently acquired Jazz FM brands.

Real Radio Group managing director, Shaun Bowron, commented: “These internal moves will further strengthen our stations as we continue to develop the group in the coming year.”

Terry Underhill, breakfast show host and programme director at Real Radio South Wales, is set to move to Yorkshire. He will take on the position of group head of music, as well as presenting the breakfast show on Yorkshire and directing programmes. Yorkshire’s current breakfast host Brendan Kearney will move to the mid-morning show on Manchester’s Jazz FM.

Andy Carter, who is currently Programme Director at Yorkshire, will take up the same role in South Wales as well as that of Deputy Managing Director to Roy Bennett.

The shake-up follows the announcement earlier this month that GMG has acquired Clear Channel UK’s radio sales division for an undisclosed sum (see GMG Set To Consolidate Radio Ad Sales).
