GMTV And IPC Join To Launch Magazine
GMTV and IPC Magazines have today announced that they are to launch a joint venture magazine at the end of April.
GMTV Magazine will be a monthly glossy containing detailed information on programme items covered on GMTV as well as a strong mix of health, cooking and celebrity articles. Aimed at the station’s core audience, C2DE women aged over 35, the magazine will have a very short production schedule to ensure that items featured will complement the programme strands covered by GMTV.
The title will be edited by Gilly Batterbee, who was drafted in from Family Circle last November to oversee the title’s editorial development. The editorial team will be provided by The Publishing Team, a customer magazine publisher already working with key companies including Barclaycard and Virgin.
Although GMTV Magazine will be a monthly, ad sales will be handled by the IPC Weeklies sales team because of a significant crossover of clients. Sly Grice, IPC Weeklies’ sales director, believes that there will be many opportunities for ‘trail and print’ campaigns that could involve sponsorship, in addition to conventional advertising.
The cover-price of the magazine has not yet been announced by IPC.
