GMTV’s audience has reached a new high this week. GMTV confirmed to MediaTel this morning that figures for viewers who tuned in at some point on Tuesday’s programme reached 7.1 million for the first time.
GMTV is seeking up to £3.5 million next year from Channel 4’s rebate to the ITV network. GMTV believes that because of the intense competition it has faced from the Big Breakfast, it should receive a larger share of the rebate than the £2 million it received this year. The ITC has issued a consultation paper to ITV companies following GMTV’s plea.
