GMTV Utilises New ITC Sponsorship Codes

A new project by GMTV and GMTV Magazine to promote the ‘informative’ national campaign ‘Get Britain Baking’ is to be sponsored by companies with a vested interest in the subject. The series of cookery supplements in the magazine and a national culinary expedition by GMTV’s chef Ross Burden will be sponsored by Silver Spoon, Whitworths and Stork (amongst others), all companies whose products fall within the area of interest of the campaign.

Head of sponsorpship at GMTV, Ray Magness told Newsline that the ITC had seen the plans for the sponsorship campaign and had agreed to the sponsors. It is the first instance of a ‘how to’ campaign being sponsored by companies with financial interests in the subject. This was prohibited until March when the ITC issued its new sponsorship codes (subscribers see ITC Publishes New Sponsorship Code). The project was put together by Magness at GMTV Magazine and Malcolm Grant at MGA Broadcasting.
