Grade Enters Race For BBC Chair
![]()
Former Chief Executive of Channel 4, Michael Grade, has been added to the list of candidates favoured for the role of BBC chairman, as speculation surrounding the appointment increases.
If press reports are to be believed then Grade, current head of Pinewood and Shepperton studios and an outspoken critic of the BBC, will be running against fellow broadcaster David Dimbleby (see Dimbleby Tipped For BBC Chair).
Both men made it to the last eight for the post of director general in 1987 and competition between the two is expected to be fierce this time round.
The Department of Culture Media and Sport, who are charged with making the appointment, were unable to comment.
