Grampian Profits Up 16%

Grampian Television has announced final results for the year ending February 1995; pre-tax profits rose 15.7% to £4.4m, compared to £3.81 million in 1994 on a turnover of £21.3 million.

Chairman Calum MacLeod attributed these results to an increase in advertising revenue; “The main factors in achieving these results were a rise of nearly 4% in advertising revenue despite a change of sales house during the year, and continued success in implementing our policy of cost-reduction within the television operation.

Grampian, as the major shareholder in Scot FM, which started broadcasting in September 1994, said that its share of Scot FM’s losses were £425,000, but that it’s growth in popularity augured well for the future.
