Grampian Profits Up By 62%

Grampian Television has continued its record of profits’ increase with the announcement that their pre-tax profits have risen by 62% to £2.9million for the six-months ended 31 August 1995.

Calum MacLeod, Grampian Television Chairman commented that “These results owe much to a 10.4% increase in Grampian’s advertising revenue over the period compared with a rise of 7.7% in ITV network advertising. TSMS has been successful in increasing our share of network advertising revenue to 1.17% (1994 – 1.14%) during the period.”

The increase in turnover benefited from three major programmes; Selina Scott meets Donald Trump, Highlanders and The National Television Awards.

Scot FM incurred trading losses, but there has been an improvement in Scot FM revenue helped by securing football broadcast rights. Management at Scot FM is being reorganised, said MacLeod. “I expect to see trading results continuing to improve as the station enters its second year of broadcasting.”
