Grampian Television’s regional coverage is the best in Britain according to local viewers in a recent NOP poll.
The North Scotland station was a clear winner for programming in local news and interest, religious, political and wildlife programmes. It also took overall top spot, averaged across twelve regional programme categories in eleven mainland ITV regions where viewers were asked what they thought of their local station’s performance.
The results also show that 49% of viewers in North Scotland choose Grampian as their favourite channel – more that all other channels grouped together and 31% ahead of second place BBC1 which attracted 18%. Grampian’s North Tonight was the viewers’ favourite news programme with 48% saying they tended to watch it most often against 25% opting for BBC’s Reporting Scotland.
