Grampian TV Bids For Radio
Grampian TV is joining with Border TV in a bid for the Central Scotland regional radio licence. (Newsline 1/9).
The two stations are bidding jointly as Central Scotland Radio, under the chairmanship of Sir David Steel. They propose to run a 24-hour talk and music service aimed at adults. Grampian holds 55% and Border 35%, the remaining equity going to local shareholders.
The application follows Border’s successful bid for the North East of England radio licence.
Allied Radio is backing CSR FM, proposing a music service. The Devanha Group is supporting the Coast to Coast Radio, proposing a mix of news with easy listening.
Sir Alan Peacock is chairing the bid from Radio Six.
