There was disappointment yesterday after stock-market speculation that Granada would bid for Yorkshire Tyne-Tees Television again proved unfounded (see yesterday’s Newsline). Some analysts believe that an acquisition of Yorkshire would be hard to justify and may have a negative effect on Granada’s shares.
Yesterday afternoon Granada fell 11p to 838p with Yorkshire dropping 3p to 1235p. This morning Yorkshire’s price stayed at 1235p and Granada’s was 837p, down 1p.
