Today is the closing date for Granada’s original offer for LWT, worth £640m. Granada is expected to announce a 14-day extension to its offer and a statement drawing attention to the rise in its share price since the bid was launched in early December; this lifted the value of the offer from £590m to £640m. The company is not expected to announce a sweetener to LWT shareholders yet.
LWT has until 14 January to produce new information in its fight against Granada’s bid.
