Granada Plus Most Popular GSB Channel
Unofficial Astra figures show that Granada Plus, the UK Gold-type channel launched by Granada Sky Broadcasting last week, was the most popular of the GSB channels.
Overall, Granada Plus’s highest viewing share amongst all individuals was on the first day of transmission with 1.4%. This declined during the week, reaching a low of 0.4% on Friday which then climbed to 1.3% on Sunday. This does not compare favourably however with UK Gold, which had a 4.5% share of viewing amongst all individuals in its first week.
Classic Coronation Street was the channel’s most popular programme: on the first night it achieved an average Individuals TVR of 1.60, with its highest average TVR being 2.59 among Housewives with Children. The peak quarter hour TVR on the first night was 3.20 for Housewives with Children and 1.97 for Individuals. The average TVR for the show over the week was 0.94 among Individuals, 1.23 for Women, 1.40 for Housewives and 1.73 for Housewives with Children.
The other GSB channels however barely managed a share of viewing at times. Talk TV only reached 0.1% by Sunday and the Good Life channels collectively had a viewing share of 0.1% throughout the week.
