Stock-market analysts believe that the long-rumoured buyout of Yorkshire Tyne-Tees Television by Granada may take place today.
As the Royal Assent of the Broadcasting Bill approaches Yorkshire’s share price has soared. Yesterday’s price reached a 52 week high of 1,238p, up 75p. Yet Granada is not the only media group thought to have its eye on YTT: United News & Media and Carlton are also believed to be interested in the company.
Granada, United and Carlton have all shown slight drops in share prices: down 11p, 5p and 3p respectively.
