Granada television will be releasing a special one-hour Coronation Street video on December 9th. The video will directly tie-in to events happening in the previous day’s Coronation Street. Filmed aboard the QE2, the video features cast regulars Rita, Mavis, Curly and Raquel as they leave behind a wet and windy Weatherfield for a sunshine cruise at the invitation of Bet Gilroy’s ex-husband Alec.
Coronation Street executive producer Carolyn Reynolds said: “This is Coronation Street playing away. A great opportunity, not only to supply our viewers with an extra feature-length episode of the programme for their enjoyment, but for the team to have some time away from Weatherfield without spoiling the exciting storylines planned for the main show on ITV.”
