Granada has announced a 32% increase in pre-tax profits to £351.3m for the year to September 1995. The Television division recorded an increase in operating profits of 65% to £140m, making it the largest contributor to the company’s profits. This is partly attributed to a full year’s contribution from LWT. Advertising revenues increased by 4% to £345m.
Granada Film’s box office success Jack and Sarah also contributed to profits. It is the third highest grossing UK produced film so far this year.
Granada has also announced today that it is to make an offer for the hotel group Forte.
