Granada Secures Asks Jeeves For Celebrity Sponsorship

Granada Enterprises has secured web search engine, Ask Jeeves, as sponsor of the new dedicated website for I’m A Celebrity – Get Me Out Of Here 2.
As part of the sponsorship deal, Ask Jeeves will receive high profile branding on every page within the site and relevant search functionality will be incorporated. Celebrities and gossip are already popular search queries on Jeeves and it is hoped the deal will lead to increased surfing between the two sites.
The new I’m A Celebrity site, which will launch in time for the start of the series on 25 April, will feature all the latest news and gossip on the 10 celebrities stuck in the Australian jungle.
Ask Jeeves will also direct users to the celebrity site from its homepage, www.ask.co.uk where the show will be promoted for a time as well as on banners throughout the site and via a number of keywords.
Jeremy Rosenberg, sales manager at Granada Interactive, commented: “The flexibility between the two parties means that Jeeves can fully benefit from call to action integration as well as sponsor branding on the site. Their involvement will allow users to extend their interest in relation to the programme.”
Aylin Savkan, vice president of marketing and product strategy at Ask Jeeves UK, added: “Our association with the programme allows viewers to find out more about the contestants and general entertainment news and gossip by searching the internet. We believe Jeeves is the perfect compliment to this particular TV show.”
Earlier this month, Granada secured Suzuki Motorcycles to support motorbike programming across its Men and Motors channel (see Granada Secures Suzuki For Men & Motors Promotion).
