Granada Enterprises has secured MB Games to sponsor its new ITV1 series, Celebrities Under Pressure.
The new weekly show will run for six weeks from Saturday 13 September and will be hosted by Melanie Sykes. It is the latest in a long line of celebrity focused entertainment shows on ITV1 and will see celebrities living with families and conducting various tasks in order to win a range of prizes.
The sponsorship agreement was negotiated by Mark Rosenegk at Granada Enterprises and Terry Gorst at OMD Affinity. It will see MB’s flagship games such as Buckaroo, Operation, Twister and Guess Who? feature in a series of idents and break-bumpers throughout the show.
Carlton recently secured a deal with Westmill Foods that will see its new range of Ken Hom products sponsor ITV1’s daytime chat show, Today With Des And Mel (see Carlton Secures Sponsor For ITV’s Today With Des And Mel).
Earlier this month ITV’s director of programmes, Nigel Pickard, outlined plans to revitalise the schedules at the UK’s largest commercial broadcaster, despite news that ITV1’s programming budget for next year will remain static at around £835 million (see MGEITF 2003: Pickard Outlines Plans To Revitalise ITV).
