Granada Enterprises has secured ski specialist, Scott Dunn, to sponsor the new Snow Reports on the ITV News Channel from next month.
The Snow Reports will appear on the channel for the first time on 1 December and will be broadcast hourly each day until the end of the ski season. They will feature all the major European resorts with updates on snow conditions and weather.
The sponsorship package will include the production of a 30-second commercial and credits for the reports. The deal was negotiated by James Gibson at Granada Enterprises and Andrew Dunn at Scott Dunn.
Commenting on the deal, Gibson said: “The ITV News Channel’s conversion to Scott Dunn’s audience is perfect. The package reinforces their position as the top ski holiday operator in the UK whilst the commercial illustrates the other types of holidays available with them.”
Dunn added: “The commercial shows that we offer many other holiday destinations but with the same attention to detail. The package offered by the team at Granada Enterprises allows us to promote our new branding “Scott Dunn, holidays without compromise”.
It is understood that the ITV News Channel has been given a £1.6 million budget increase by Carlton and Granada, which recently secured formal approval on the undertakings of their £4.5 billion merger from Trade and Industry Secretary, Patricia Hewitt (see Government Formally Accepts Conditions Of ITV Merger).
Granada Enterprises recently secured distance learning provider Computeach to sponsor a range of sports programming on The ITV News Channel, which has seen its audience increase by nearly 50% since its relaunch last June (see Granada Secures Sponsor For ITV News Channel).
