Growth For Customer Magazines

The current growth in the customer magazine market is expected to continue, according to a Mintel report commissioned by the Association of Publishing Agencies. The report predicts a 31% revenue increase to £116m over the next four years. Turnover in the sector totalled £80m in 1993, Mintel expects it to reach £88m for 1994.

The report suggests that the success of the magazines may be partly due to the current economic climate, with companies having to try harder to retain customers. Redwood Publishing’s Michael Potter, chairman of the APA, said “This report shows that customer magazines are increasingly being used as the most effective medium for companies to get closer to their customers and achieve a lasting and profitable relationship with them.”
