The Cable Television Association has released predictions for cable growth up to 2000; 12 million homes will have been passed with broadband cable. The estimates predict that there will be 6.12m subscribers; this is a penetration of 51%.
By October1993 there were 62 franchises operating, and 12,000 miles of cable laid. Total investment in UK Cable to December 1993 was £1.7 billion.
