Gruner And Jahr Launch Hello! Rival

Gruner and Jahr has confirmed that it will be launching a weekly magazine called Here! as a rival to Hello! on June 3^rd.

Here! will be a glossy, 68-page publication costing 70p and aimed at 20-34 year old BC1C2 women. It will have an initial print-run of 1.3 million and is aiming for a circulation of 400,000. The title will have more of a news angle than its rivals though it will still primarily be concerned with celebrity gossip, fashion, health and beauty. The launch will be backed by a £1.3m TV and promotional campaign handled by Arc. Advertising will be dealt with by Victoria Scott, the Ad Director.

BBC Magazines is also planning a series of new magazine launches. A spokeswoman at the company said that three projects were in development stage. One of these is due to be a football title though she would not reveal what the other two were.
