GSB Aims To Create Top Women’s Channel
Granada Sky Broadcasting (GSB) is changing the name of its Good Life channel to Granada Breeze as from 1 May. Granada boasts that the channel will be the first cable and satellite channel to offer live programmes every day of the week.
The change is part of a plan by Granada to create ‘the top women’s channel on cable and satellite television’ and apparently follows extensive consultation to determine the ‘desires and aspirations’ of women viewers. Masthead programming will also feature on Breeze with The Good Housekeeping Show hosted by Leslie Ash and The Zest Beauty Show hosted by Julia Carling.
The channel’s flagship show, Livetime, will feature a significant level of interactivity as part of a plan by Granada chief executive, Jeff Henry, to increase viewer interactivity in line with Granada’s digital expansion.
Henry goes on to say that: “The changes have been brought about as a result of market analysis and programming feedback which led us to introduce emotion into a previously more instructional-based schedule.”
Granada Breeze will transmit from 6am to 6pm, and will be promoted with a £1 million marketing campaign created by CMS Dolphin.
