Guardian Approached Over GMTV Stake
The Guardian Group has been approached by a number of companies regarding the sale of its stake in GMTV.
According to the Independent today, other GMTV shareholders are particularly keen to take over media group’s 15% share. Guardian Media Group will be announcing the appointment of a new chief executive shortly and it is rumoured that Jim Markwick’s successor may re-examine ways of splitting the group up.
GMTV’s other shareholders include Carlton Communications, Disney, Granada and Scottish Media Group.
