Guardian Extends WAP Presence In Orange Deal
Guardian Unlimited is expanding its WAP presence with the announcement of a content deal with Orange WAP mobile phones, allowing users to access information from the Guardian’s network of websites.
Earlier this year the group signed a deal with BT Cellnet (see Guardian Unlimited Embraces Multi-Platform Distribution) which allowed access to headlines and analysis from daily news service News Unlimited. Now this service will be extended to Orange subscribers and will be followed by interactive services from Film Unlimited and Jobs Unlimited. Users will be able to check times of films at the cinema and look for a job using the national search facility.
Geoff Inns, business development manager at the group, said: “Guardian Unlimited is leading the field in delivering useful, quality information on mobile platforms. This deal with Orange demonstrates our commitment to making Guardian Unlimited content, and now interactive services, available wherever, whenever.”
