Guardian In Talks With Jazz FM

The Guardian is in preliminary talks with Jazz FM regarding sponsorship for a regular IT programme.

It is believed the radio programme will focus on all aspects of IT, especially the Internet, and the sponsorship would promote the Guardian‘s online service and IT recruitment section. A spokeswoman for the newspaper told MediaTel that trade press reports of a deal worth £100,000 being clinched were premature and inaccurate. She said that any deal would be worth much less – probably around £10,000.

According to the latest Rajar figures, the two Jazz FM stations recorded mixed performances: Jazz FM 100.4 increased its weekly reach by 0.84% to 241,000, whilst Jazz FM 102.2 lost 9,000 listeners with its reach dropping 1.83% to 482,000.
