Guardian Unlimited Offers Content Affiliation To Web Publishers

The Guardian Unlimited network of websites has launched a new kind of content affiliate programme that will allow other internet publishers to include Guardian Unlimited material in their websites. The Guardian has launched the service, which it claims is the first of its kind in the UK, in order to increase traffic across its own sites.

Affiliates will be allowed to to use headlines and first paragraphs from Guardian stories on their own websites, whether they be major US publishers or individual hobbyists. In return, publishers must credit and link to the Guardian Unlimited website.

The Guardian Unlimited network of sites offers news, features and information on subjects including football, film, education, business and job vacancies. Users can also set up searchable databases for film and job listings, for example.

Geoff Inns, Guardian Unlimited business development manager, says: “This initiative will provide a potentially limitless number of partner sites with excellent material from Guardian Unlimited for free. This scheme will increase global interest enormously. We want you to be unable to move without seeing something from the Guardian Unlimited.”
