GWR Applies For Wiltshire Multiplex

GWR FM and NOWdigital have submitted a bid for the Swindon and West Wiltshire digital radio multiplex to the Radio Authority, which, if successful, would see a further expansion of GWR’s digital services in the South and West of England.

The bid proposes 13 services which would include current local analogue GWR services, a pop service for 10-19 year olds and a rock service for 15-35 year olds. NOWdigital has stated that it intends to make further bids for digital multiplex licences in areas covered by GWR analogue services.

GWR’s current local multiplex licences include Wolverhampton, Shrewsbury & Telford, Bristol & Bath, Southend & Chelmsford and Bournemouth, Exeter and Peterborough.
