GWR’s Core Goes Interactive

The GWR group has announced the first, free, interactive radio initiative, CoreControl, through its national digital station Core. From next week listeners will be able to log into the Core music database to request the songs they would like to hear.

CoreControl will be available at www.core.musicradio.com from Monday. Listeners will choose the song they want to hear, Core will schedule the song and email the listener telling them what time it will be on air. Dedication requests will send emails to the recipient and will scroll the listener’s name on the digital display when the song is played.

Steve Orchard, group programme director at GWR, said: “CoreControl is the first in a series of developments from GWR Digital that will bring together the strengths of radio’s personal touch with the interactivity of the internet.”
