H Bauer Launches New Women’s Monthly Magazine

H Bauer is set to launch a new monthly women’s magazine called “Spirit & Destiny” next month.

The saddle-stitched, 132-page magazine will be priced between £2.50 and £3.00 with an initial print run of 250,000. It will focus on new age therapies, astrology alongside the traditional staples of women’s glossies; beauty, fashion and health. The magazine will be targeting the “ABC1” woman. It has taken 6 months research to identify, what H Bauer sees as a gap in the women’s glossy market. H Bauer’s Matt Hays told Newsline: “There has been a growing demand for editorial about new age ideas, like features on tarot card reading in women’s magazines and newspaper supplements. It has become a mainstream idea and a growth market.” The ABC Circulation figures for Women’s Magazines will be released later today (see Important Notes: ABC Jan-Jun 2002).
