Hachette Appoints New Group Publishers
![]()
Hachette Filipacchi has continued its restructuring plan with the announcement of two new group publishers.
Lara Wilkins (pictured), has been appointed Group Publisher of Elle and Elle Decoration, moving from her position as group publisher of the teen titles, which will now be controlled by Steph Grice. The shake-up follows the development of a revised commercial structure and the appointment of a new director in an attempt to provide better targeted advertising solutions after the ending of the group’s joint ventures with Emap (see Hachette Shakes Up Women’s Titles).
Lara Wilkins will report to Julie Harris, General Manager Women’s Group, who stepped down from her position as deputy managing director and group publishing director of the Elle and Top Sante titles to join Hachette (see Handbags At Dawn For Emap And Hachette).
Steph Grice will report directly to managing director, Vivien Cotterill, who commented: “As we promised we’ve focused on structuring Hachette with clear brand champions. These appointments confirm our belief in the strength and necessity of publishers. The publishers’ role will focus not only on the profit and loss and consumers of each brand, but also on the external communications and relationships with our clients, agencies and suppliers.”
Wilkins has worked on Hachette teen titles for four years and has been responsible for strengthening the brands and developing marketing and publishing opportunities across the group. Previously, she set up the promotions department at Attic Futura supporing Sugar, B and Shine.
Grice moves up to the position of group publisher of teen titles from her role providing maternity cover as group publisher on Inside Soap and All About Soap. She also recently organised the relocation of the Elle, Elle Decoration, ELLEgirl and Red staff from Emap.
