Hachette Filipacchi is continuing to strengthen its management team with appointment of Reid Holland to the newly created position of head of trade marketing and circulation with immediate effect.
The new position will see Holland assume responsibility for managing and developing circulation, distribution and trade marketing strategy across Hachette’s portfolio of nine titles, which include Red, Elle and Sugar.
He will be supported by a newly recruited trade marketing executive and a team of three staff at Marketforce. The team will be led by circulation manager, Piers Tooley, who was previously deputy circulation manager at IPC Connect.
Commenting on the appointment, Simon Bell, marketing director of Hachette Filipacchi UK, said: “Reid’s new role is crucial to strengthening Hachette’s trade marketing activity and improving efficiency at point of sale. His appointment will enable us to have a first class dialogue with the news trade.”
Holland added: “Hachette have a great team and a great portfolio. To be offered the chance to join them and establish and develop its newstrade agenda is a dream come true. It’s the opportunity that I have worked tirelessly for over the past seven years.”
Previously, Holland worked for magazine distributor, Marketforce, where he was group circulation manager responsible for the Hachette portfolio. Prior to that he spent three years as IPC Ignite’s group circulation manager, covering men’s magazines and music titles such as Loaded, NME and Uncut.
Hachette Fillipacchi, which launched in the UK in October 2002 following the acquisition of Attic Futura, has been expanding its operations with a number of key appointments. Most recently it poached IPC’s Rita Lewis to become publishing director of its flagship women’s titles Red and B (see Hachette Poaches IPC’s Lewis For Key Publishing Role).
