Hachette Filipacchi has announced a comprehensive restructure of its advertising sales team following the recent appointment of Tim Kirkman as sales director.
The initiative will see Cath Ware return from maternity leave to become the company’s commercial director for central sales with responsibility for key accounts, central sales, classified, international fashion and inserts.
Meanwhile, Clare Dempster has been promoted to the role of commercial director of the women’s group and Lisa Tookey takes up the position of group advertising director for the high-profile Red and B magazines.
Jacqui Greaves takes the role of acting group advertising director on the Hachette’s flagship fashion titles ELLE and modern living magazine ELLE Decoration until Michelle McQueen’s return to the company.
The restructure will see Nigel Birch take over as acting group advertising director until Helen Brocklebank’s return from maternity leave. The role will see him assume responsibility for the teen group, which encompasses Sugar, tvhits! and ELLEgirl.
Hachette’s research team will become part of a new sale support department, which will also incorporate ad marketing, IT systems and sales support. The soap team remains unchanged and will continue to be headed by advertising director Anna Butlin.
The company’s promotions team will become integrated with sales and implementation co-operating on projects rather than working separately. The teen and women’s groups will retain separate promotion teams.
Commenting on the re-structure sales director, Tim Kirkman, said: “This new structure will play to the considerable strengths of the existing talent at Hachette Filipacchi UK. It is designed to deliver a truly customer centric approach to generating revenue from our key areas of advertising, promotions, sponsorship and classified.”
The re-shuffle comes at the end of a busy month for Hachette, with high profile deals between Sugar and Durex making headlines and yesterday’s announcement of a tie-in with girl’s portal mykindaplace.com to offer integrated magazine and online campaigns to advertisers (see Hachette Teams With Teen Portal In Advertising Deal).
