Health Mag Zest Given £0.5m Makeover

Natmags is investing half a million pounds in revamping its young women’s health title Zest. The news comes as the consumer magazine industry prepares for next week’s ABC results for the second half of 2001.
The last set of ABC results did not bring good news for the title, as its circulation total of 110,000 represented a year on year fall of 14%. However, in the second half of last year, Zest’s closest rival in terms of editorial intent, Attic Futura’s Shine, was closed (see Lights Out For Shine Magazine ), giving Zest the possibility of inheriting readers from the defunct title, whose circulation topped 100,000.
Zest’s revamp will include the new strapline: “All You Need To Look And Feel Your Best”, as well as new typefaces and clearly defined sections. The first new look issue will be April’s, published on 11 March, and will have a covermounted gym bag and a 20-page health and sex special. The relaunch will be supported by direct marketing.
