Hearst Magazines UK has today announced the appointment of Ella Dolphin as group commercial director.
In her new role she will take ownership of the publisher’s commercial strategy, leading the sales team and devising creative products for advertisers across all platforms and events.
Dolphin, whose previous role as group publishing director saw her working across titles including Cosmopolitan, Red and Esquire, will now focus exclusively on her new position, reporting Hearst Magazines UK’s CEO, Anna Jones.
A group publishing director to replace Dolphin is currently being recruited.
In a statement, Hearst said Dolphin will also focus on developing “long-term alliances” with its key customers and agencies, as well as overseeing commercial trading strategy across the business, to be led by a head of trading – a position that Hearst is also in the process of recruiting.
“Ella combines a deep understanding of brands and content with a fresh and innovative approach to commercial partnerships, and I am delighted to have her on board,” said Anna Jones.
“Ella will strengthen our unique approach to creative, digital, content and experiential solutions to ensure our advertising partners get maximum value from all our brands and channels.”
Dolphin added: “I’m extremely excited to be taking on the group commercial director role at Hearst. Our 26 iconic brands have extraordinary reach and there is a huge opportunity to create compelling 360 brand and audience solutions supported by outstanding client service.
“I am very much looking forward to building on the fresh energy in the business.”
