Hi-Tech Hoping For World Cup Washroom Winner

Washroom poster contractor Hi-Tech Solutions is to tap into the large number of people who go to pubs to watch football matches by offering advertisers a series of World Cup 2002 packages.

The packs, which will consist of 1,200 washroom poster panels, will only be in pubs where there is a live link sports screen and which have special opening hours catering for the games and highlights. Additions such as beer mats, glasses and matches will also be available.

Richard Weir, marketing director of Hi-Tech Solutions, said: “Pub traffic increases significantly during the World Cup. Our packs are going to be the best way to hit the jubilant masses. They are targeted via the live screens but also generically by men and women to ensure no waste.”

The fact that this year’s World Cup is to be hosted by Japan and Korea may result in smaller TV audiences than previous tournaments, as the time zone difference will result in the matches taking place in what will be the morning, UK time.
