On the first day of sales for the new National Lottery tickets, a high take-up has been reported so far. Sales had reached £3.5m by 2pm; tickets went on sale at 7am this morning, and some outlets claimed that over 100 £1 tickets went within half an hour of the launch. Other outlets complained however, that their machines had not yet been linked up to the National Lottery computer
