Highbury House Sees B2B Publishing Revenues Flat For 2002

Publishing group Highbury House Communications, has this morning posted full year financial results slightly ahead of the expectations set out in December (see B2B Slump Catches Up With Highbury House), but the year was nevertheless declared ‘difficult’.

Revenue rose 29% to £100 million and pre-tax profits were up 15% to £6.9 million.

Advertising outlook Highbury said that consumer advertising has remained ‘steady’ throughout 2001, although the consumer division has been hit by falling newsstand sales, losses attributable to newer titles and increasing costs.

B2B advertising is not expected to show any improvement in 2002, with revenues forecast to remain broadly flat on a like for like basis.

Ian Fletcher, executive chairman, said: “Current trading is in line with expectations and having integrated our acquisitions, reduced costs and streamlined management, we are confident that the prospects for the Group are excellent.”

Shares in Highbury House were up 1½p at 25p by late morning today.
