Bauer’s Hits Radio Breakfast Show has quadrupled its weekly audience year-on-year, according to the latest figures.

It recorded a weekly reach of 2m listeners for Q1 2024, up four-fold (300%) year-on-year and 327.3% quarter-on-quarter.

The listening figures include the national broadcast hosted by Fleur East, James Barr and Matt Haslam, and local shows with local presenters.

The Hits Radio brand, which launched its first TV ad campaign last month, added 16 of Bauer’s local stations to its umbrella, which is a large factor behind the scale of audience growth.

This jump meant Hits Radio entered the top 10 breakfast shows for Q1 2024 at number nine, up eight places compared to last quarter.

Global’s Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden retained the top spot for a commercial breakfast show with 4.2m weekly listeners, up 4.3% on the previous quarter when it overtook BBC Radio 1.
