Home & Away Moves Again

Carlton television, the London weekday ITV franchise, is to move Australian soap opera Home & Away back to its original 5.10pm evening slot from 6.00pm starting Monday November 25th.
The move is being made to accommodate several new early evening programmes that will be starting in that week, these include two editions of Carlton’s soap London Bridge (which is itself being moved from its 10.40pm slot), Videotech a new music show and After The News a quiz show hosted by Nick Owen.
Carlton’s previous decision to move Home & Away was to bolster the viewing figures of its news programme London Tonight which was attracting a smaller audience than its BBC1 rival Newsroom South East*London Tonight Splits – Home & Away Moved.
Carlton has also announced details of a new lunchtime news programme for the London region, which will be fronted by London Tonight newsreader Mary Nightingale. There will also be a new factual programme called Carlton Country fronted again by Mary Nightingale with Tony Francis which will go out at 7.30pm on Tuesday nights.
