How Does He Do That? Holmes Gets More Viewers Than Himself
ITV’s coverage of the European Champions League is proving more popular than the BBC’s coverage of UEFA Cup. ITV’s coverage of Blackburn Rovers against Rosenborg drew an audience of 7.88 million while BBC1’s Liverpool match against Spartak Vladikavkaz only attracted an audience of 6.55 million. Sky Sports coverage of Manchester United’s match only managed 0.828 million and ITV’s highlights of other UEFA Cup action achieved 2.81 million.
Programmes doing well this week include BBC1’s adaptation of Pride and Prejudice which is attracting 9.38 million viewers against LWT’s London Burning, which gets 14.78 million. ITV sporting bloomers show Oddballs which is presented by Eamonn Holmes was watched by 11.55 million, against BBC1’s How Do They That?, also presented by Eamonn Holmes, which only got 7.82 million.
Television viewing as whole has fallen slightly by 1.5% when compared to the same week last year, of which ITV records the biggest fall of 8.7%. Viewing for the month of September is up by 2 hours on August to 23 hrs and 55 minutes; this is an increase of 9.1%.
