IAB Launches “The Daddy” In Internet Standards

The Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) has unveiled its latest round of standards for interactive media, which is to be released in 12 parts during 2002.

Danny Meadows-Klue, chairman and chief executive of the IAB, explained why he felt the programme, named “The Daddy of all Standards Part II” was needed: “Standards are critical to the success of all digital media and each set the IAB publishes represents a consensus of acceptable practices that unify and strengthen the industry.”

The IAB hopes to draw together the many standards already in existence, to make them more accessible and understandable. The programme began in January with a guide to digital jargon, and will go on to cover areas including online artwork, media reporting, email marketing, privacy and auditing.
