IAG Set Web Standards

The Internet Advertising Group, a consortium of leading online publishers, has agreed a set of voluntary guidelines by which advertising on the Web should be sold.

At a meeting last week members of the group, which includes the Electronic Telegraph and Channel 4, decided to standardise banner ad sizes and use definitions developed in the US when referring to website accesses and usage – part of this is to abandon the term “hit”.
