Independent Chairman Resigns

The chairman of News International Publishing, Sir Ralf Dahrendorf, resigned at the end of last week, claiming that his departure was partly to do with the company’s failure to buy the Observer. A successor to the chairman has yet to be announced.
INDEPENDENT SHAREHOLDER REVEALED
Officia Meccanica Cerruti, an Italian manufacturer of printing equipment, has been named as the buyer of Robert Maxwell’s 2.3% stake in Newspaper Publishing. The stake went for 190p a a share.
